As a budding profession, the coaching industry is still largely taking shape and, as such, anyone can call themselves a coach.  At Solstice, our standard is much, much higher.  It is important, when selecting a coach, to look for these three things: Credentials, Coach-Client Compatibility, and Client Satisfaction.



There are no required credentials in the field of coaching.  Yet, with its roots in psychology, it is essential that you are working with a trained, certified professional.  It's your life, your work, and your company.  Look for strong credentials.  Each of our coaches have a minimum of:

• BA degree from an Accredited University
• Over 115 hours of face-to-face, classroom training as professional coaches
• Completion of the most rigorous, 200 hour certification program in the industry
• Successful completion of an intense written and performance examination
• 100+ coaching hours of professional coaching experience
• A certification recognized by the International Coach Federation (ACC, CPCC, or MCC)

Working with the right coach is of the utmost importance.  A coach and client should be a good fit, not just in terms of niche and area of specialization, but more importantly in terms of compatibility.  It's very important for coach and client to feel at ease with one another; yes, to "click".  Our first priority at Solstice is to pair prospective clients with the best possible coach.  We spend time with our clients learning about their goals and needs, getting a sense of their personality, so that we can be sure they are working with the appropriate coach.  We're so committed to the notion of "compatibility" that we will refer prospective clients to coaches in other firms if we do not believe we can work effectively with them.  Truly, it's that important.

At Solstice, we always offer free telephone consultations with our coaches so that clients can be sure they are comfortable with their prospective coach before the actual coaching begins.
